Heute ging es früh weiter über die N373 Richtung Monsaraz. Der Weg führt uns durch kleine portugiesische Dörfchen zu einem Wassersportzentrum neben Monsaraz. Super schöner Platz mit einem künstlich angelegten Strand, einer Bar und einem öffentlichen Klo. Schatten suchend sind wir mit der Sonne dem Schatten entlang gewandert :o).

Today we left early via the N373 towards Monsaraz. We drove through small portuguese villages to a water sport center next to Monsaraz. Very beautiful spot with an artificial beach, a bar and a public restroom. Looking for some shade we wandered with the sun towards the shade :o).
4th-5th May 2019
An der am Hügel gelegenen Stadt Monsaraz fahren wir weiter durch eine wunderschöne Landschaft zum Einkaufen. Unseren Schlafplatz finden wir an der anderen Seite des Sees. Sehr ruhig, kaum Leute. Von weitem sieht man ein zerfallenes Haus – da muss ich hin! Also Schuhe montiert und los – Wasser nicht vergessen, denn es ist heiss… Super schöner Weg am See entlang – Wow so viele grosse Fische! Eine Stunde später bei der Ruine angekommen – naja, der Blick ist das einzig spektakuläre dort. Also Fotos machen und zurückmarschieren. Auf dem Rückweg eine Wasserschildkröte unter den Algen entdeckt!! Zurück bei Bärbel – Schatten und Schuhe aus ;o) – Am Abend wurden wir mit einem traumhaften Sonnenuntergang belohnt.

Driving past the city of Monsaraz, which lays on a hill we cross very beautiful landscape to get some shopping done. We found our overnight stop on the other side of the lake. Very quiet and few people. From a distance I can see the remains of a house – I had to go see that! Shoes on and let’s go – don’t forget water because it is hot… Very beautiful trail next to the lake – wow there are big fishes in there too! An hour later I arrived at the house – well the view is the only spectacular thing to see. Took a few pictures and headed back. On my way back I spot a water turtle hiding underneath some algae!! Back with Baerbel – shade, shoes off ;o) – The evening rewarded us with an incredible sunset.
6th May 2019
Weiter Richtung Süden durch die portugiesische Landschaft auf der Suche nach einem Plätzchen. Nachdem wir 3 Plätze angefahren sind, landen wir schliesslich in Alqueva – direkt neben einer Staumauer. Sehr beeindruckendes Bauwerk. Es mussten viele Leute für die Staumauer weichen, daher wird dieses Bauwerk in der Gegend mit gemischten Gefühlen betrachtet. Wir standen mit 2 weiteren Wohnmobilen dort. Gemütlich :o)

Driving on south through the portoguese landscape looking for a spot. After heading to 3 different spots we ended up in Alqueva – next to a concrete dam. Very impressive building. Several people had to move to build the dam therefore this buidling causes mixed feelings in the people. We stayed there with 3 other campers. Cosy :o)
7th-8th May 2019
Ja, wir brauchen mal wieder einen Campingplatz. Gar nicht so einfach in dieser Gegend. Also müssen wir etwas weiter fahren als üblich – über 100km ;o) – In Castro Verde finden wir einen Stellplatz, der alles bietet, was wir brauchen. Gleich noch Wäsche gewaschen – dann ist das auch mal wieder erledigt :O)

Yes, it is time for a campsite again. Not so easy in this area, so we had to drive a bit further than usual – over 100km ;o) – In Castro Verde we find one that offers all we need. Took the chance to do the laundry – so that’s done :O)
