Durch die Park4night App finden wir einen Stellplatz mit kostenloser Dusche und Klos, das müssen wir gleich mal prüfen ;o). Und tatsächlich: der Platz befindet sich neben Ágreda, einem wunderschönen Ort mit wenigen Touristen aber sehr schönen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Der Dusch-und Toilettenbereich ist ok, allerdings gibt es bei den Duschen keinen Vorhang – Privatsphäre Ade :O). Die vorbeispazierenden Leute sind alle sehr nett. Wir entscheiden, die letzten Tage der Hitzewelle hier zu verbringen. Da ich noch Geschenke kaufen muss, komme ich zufällig an der Carniceria al Corte vorbei. Supernette Betreiber mit Topprodukten und guten Tipps für die Umgebung. Definitiv ein Besuch wert!

With the Park4night App we find a spot with free showers and toilets, we have to check this out ;o). And really, the spot is next to Ágreda, a very Beautiful town with only a few tourists and nice for some Sightseeing. The shower and toilet area is ok, however there are no curtains on the shower – say goodbye to privacy :O). The walkbyers are all very friendly. We decide to stay during the last days of the heat wave. As I wanted to get some presents, I popoed into the Carniceria al Corte. Very nice owners with top products and good tipps for the area. Definetely worth a visit!
Heute ist ein besonderer Tag für mich: Wir fahren in die langersehnten Bardenas Reales, einer Art Wüste / Steppe in Navarra. Und ja, wir wurden nicht enttäuscht: Die Gegend ist extrem unwirklich! So etwas habe ich noch nie zuvor gesehen! Einfach nur Wow! Kein Wunder wurden hier so viele Filme gedreht – es fühlt sich eher an wie New Mexico :O)

Today is a Special day for me: We drive to the Long awaited Bardenas Reales, a desert / steppe in Navarra. An yes, we weren’t disappointed: The area is so surreal! I’ve never seen something like this before! No wonder, they filmed so many movies here as it feels like New Mexico :O)
Auf der Suche nach dem nächsten Platz fahren wir zu einem See. Der Parkplatz hatte aber Scherbenreste einer Autoscheibe am Boden und entsprach auch sonst nicht unseren Vorstellungen. Also weiter Richtung Olite. Der Platz befindet sich an einer Hauptstrasse, ist aber trotzdem sehr ruhig. Am nächsten Morgen sah ich eine Uniform draussen. Also gleich raus und gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Es stellte sich heraus, dass die beiden anhand unseres Nummernschildes nicht herausfinden konnten, wo wir herkommen ;O). Habe dann noch ein bisschen gequatscht mit den beiden – es ist immer von Vorteil, wenn man die Sprache spricht ;o). Sie empfohlen uns, unbedingt noch nach Ujué zu fahren, liegt ca. 20 km weiter. Da wir durch diese unerwartete aber nette Begegnung früh aufgestanden sind, habe ich mich noch aufgemacht, Olite an zu schauen. Der Königspalast ist riesengross und für 3€ Eintritt kann man diesen auf eigene Faust erkunden. Möbel befinden sich keine mehr drinnen aber der Ausblick auf Olite und die Umgebung macht das allemal wett. Die Türme hochzugehen und Fotos zu schiessen hat meinen ganzen Mut gebraucht – aber Grenzerfahrungen sind wichtig! Das Dorf von Olite ist auch sehr schön. Authentische Gässchen mit Steinhäusern prägen das Dorfbild. Natürlich musste ich auch hier in einen Weinladen, wenn man schonmal da ist. Rausgegangen bin ich mit einer Flasche Pacharan, dem Nationalgetränk Navarras mit Schlehdorn. Erfolgreiche Stadtbesichtigung.

On our search for the next overnight stop we drive to a lake. The parking lot had broken glass from a car window on the Ground and apart from that didn’t really meet our expectations. So we head on to Olite. The spot is next to the main street but still quite. The next morning I see a uniform outside Baerbel and got up to check what was going on. Turns out, that the Police officers couldn’t make out where we are coming from y Looking at our number plates ;O). So I had a Little Chat with them – Always good when you speak the same language ;o). The recommended us to drive to Ujué which is About 20 km away. We thanked them and got back inside. As we got up rather early due to this unexpected Encounter, I decide to check out Olite. The kings Palast is huge and for 3€ you can visit it. There is no furniture left but the view on the villageof Olite and the surrounding is making up for this big time. To climb the Towers o take some Pictures really got me on the Edge – but it is important to get over your borders from time to time! the Villageof Olite is very Beautiful. Authentic Little alleys with Stone dominate the look. Of Course I had to go into a Vinoteca, if you’re here already ;O). I left with a bottle of Pacharan, the national drink in Navarra made with blackthorn. Very succesful Sightseeing.
Selbstverständlich nehmen wir den Ratschlag der Polizisten gerne wahr und fahren weiter nach Ujué. Die Fahrt führt durchs Hinterland in die Höhe. Der Parkplatz liegt unter dem Dorf hinter einer alten Kirche. Die Aussicht ist der Hammer! Ausser dem Dorf nur Berge und terassenartige Felder. Richtig schön! Der Weg zum Dorf ist sehr steil – und die 34° machen es nicht einfacher – aber die kleinen Pflastersteinwege zwischen den wunderschönen Steinhäusern sind es auf jeden Fall wert. Die grosse Kirche Iglesia de Santa Maria stammt aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und kann kostenlos besichtigt werden. Die Aussicht ist wunderschön – das Gebäude sehr beeindruckend. Ujué hat 3 Restaurants in denen das klassische Migas del Pastor gegessen werden kann. Einen Souvenirshop gibt es natürlich auch. Dort können gebrannte Mandeln, Wein, Gebäck und geweihte Figuren gekauft werden. Ujué wurde als eines der schönsten Dörfer Spaniens ausgezeichnet – absolut zurecht!

Naturally we take up the recommandations from the Police officers and drive to Ujué. The drive takes us up a mountain. The parking lot is below the village behind the ruins of a church. The view is stunning! Besides the village all you see is mountains and terraced fields. really beautiful! The path up to the village is very steep – 34° dn’t really help either – but the plasterstone path leading its way between the cute stone houses is worth it all the way. The big church Iglesia de Santa Maria wabuilt in 16th century and can be visited for free. Again, the view is Incredible – the Building itself stunning. There are 3 restaurants in Ujué where you can eat the traditional Migas del Pastor. A souvenir shop offers sugar coated almonds, wine, pastry and sanctified figures. Ujujé was honored one of the most beautiful villages of Spain – absolutely deserves it!
