So, heute steht es auf dem Programm – Santiago de Compostela. Leider gibt es für uns keine passende Übernachtungsmöglichkeit. Also entscheiden wir uns, auf dem Parkplatz für Wohnmobile nahe der Stadt für die Stadtbesichtigung zu parken – kostet 3€ tagsüber – und danach zum Stellplatz zu fahren. Gesagt getan – am Parkplatz angekommen marschiere ich los Richtung Kathedrale. Je näher ich komme, um so beeindruckender wurde es – nicht nur die Umgebung sondern auch das Gefühl dieser Ehrfurcht und des Stolzes all der Pilger, die ihr lang ersehntes Ziel endlich erreicht haben. Auf dem grossen Platz vor der Kathedrale wurde das dann sehr bewusst. All die erschöpften aber glücklichen Gesichter, die Freudenschreie frisch angekommener Pilger, der Frieden und die Zufriedenheit, welche in der Luft liegt. Da kann man nur Innehalten und sich von dieser Welle des Glücks und der Zufriedenheit tragen zu lassen. Natürlich will ich mir auch den Rest der Stadt ansehen. Allerdings ist da nicht viel mehr zu sehen ausser alle paar Meter ein Souvenirgeschäft und gefühlt tausende Restaurants und genauso viele Menschen, die sich durch die engen Gässchen zwängen. Nichts für mich – also mache ich mich auf den Rückweg zum Parkplatz; schliesslich müssen wir ja noch zum Übernachtungsplatz fahren.

Well, today is the day – Santiago de Compostela. As there is no overnight spot we like, we park on a camp park side close to the city center. During the day you pay 3€ – that’s ok for us. We will head on to our overnight spot after sightseeing. Arrived at the park side, I walk towards the cathedrale. As closer as I get, the more impressive everything got – not only the surrounding but more the feeling of reverence and pride of all the pilgrims that finally arrived at their long awaited destination. On the main plazza of the cathedrale it all finally hit me. All the exhausted happy faces, screams of happiness of the freshly arrived pilgrims, the peace and the satisfaction that lingered in the air. The only thing to do is stop and soak it all in and „surf“ the wave of happiness and satisfaction. Of course I also explore the rest of the city. Well there is not much more to see than a souvenir store every other meter as well as tons of restaurants and thousands of people squeezing through the alleys. Not my thing – so I head back to the parking lot; we have to head on to our overnight spot.
Der Weg nach Borreiros führt durch kleine Dörfer hoch
und runter. Der relativ neue Stellplatz liegt am Encoro da Fervenza, einem
grossen See in der Mitte von Galizien. Die Besitzerin ist sehr nett und schenkt
uns Eier und frische Kartoffeln damit wir uns selbst Tortilla machen können –
und wie wir diese gemacht haben :o). Zudem wurden wir zum Kaffee mit Keksen
eingeladen, welcher uns zu Baerbel gebracht wurden – ja sehr empfehlenswert
hier.

The way to Borreiros leads through small villages up and down. The recently
opened overnight spot is nex tot he Encoro da Fervenza, a huge see in the
middle of Galicia. The owner is very nice and gave us some eggs and fresh
potatoes to cook Tortilla – and how we made them :o) In addition, she offered
us coffee and cookies, which she even brought to Baerbel – very recommendable
place.
